Milton Keynes College are looking to recruit a Funding & Data Officer/ Administrator within the Offender Learning and Skills Service, to be based at HMP Foston Hall.

About the College

Milton Keynes College is a leading Further Education College providing vocational, academic, professional and higher education courses across four Milton Keynes based campuses. The College also holds the contract to deliver the Offenders` Learning and Skills Service at various prisons and young offenders institutions.

Located on the A50 near to the Derbyshire/ Staffordshire border and within easy reach of the M1 and M6, HMP Foston Hall is a closed female establishment. The Education Department delivers a range of programmes to the learners to support them on their learning journey and increase their opportunity of gaining employment on release. We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to deliver learner success through effective teaching and delivery on ICT programmes.

Description of duties

– Monitor the recruitment of learners to ensure that the relevant paperwork is submitted.
– Collate learner information relating to enrolment, completion/withdrawal and achievement and record all data accurately on both internal and external systems before submitting to the central data team.
– Analyse all data to ensure accuracy and liaise with staff within the establishment and the central team to resolve any discrepancies.
– Obtain a thorough understanding of the SFA OLASS 4 funding guidelines and ensure that all paperwork and processes remain compliant with these guidelines. 
– Carry out regular quality checks to ensure that all data is accurate and that the establishment is prepared for external audits.
– Advise and assist staff in the accurate completion of all forms and provide training to individuals or groups as necessary.

Essential Criteria

– Good basic general education including GCSE (or) equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above.
– Experience of working with and analysing data.
– Application of advanced Excel skills in previous roles.
– Confident and efficient in the collation of data reports.
– Accuracy and precision in data compilation and presentation.
– Sensitive to the complexities of prisons or closed institutions and have the ability to work positively within the inherent restraints.
– Able to work independently and to use own initiative.
– Work well under pressure and be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
