Cubiq Recruitment is representing a global business that service the aerospace & defence sector in the design & development high precision electro-mechanical sub-systems and components.

We are looking for a degree qualified mechanical design engineer to join a multi-disciplined R&D team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to be part of all activities in the full lifecycle whilst designing mechanical systems on electro-mechanical actuation products. Some products have the highest safety classification as they are utilised in systems such as flight surface control, landing gear and engine steering.

Initially the role will primarily support the Research & Technology team however opportunity will arise to work within the main project teams with career progression.

* Requirements Capture
* Writing documentation
* Research Activities
* Mechanical design
* PCB integration
* Verification
* FE analysis
* First/prototype build
* Initial test

The position would particularly suit a practical engineer with enthusiasm for aerospace and its products. Opportunity for personal development is high and candidates should have a view to developing their documentation and customer facing skills as they progress in their role.

Technical Skills Required

* 1+ Years of work in a Commercial Mechanical Design Environment
* Honours Degree Qualified in Mechanics/Mechatronics/Aerospace
* Mechanical design skills (3D CAD)
* Understanding of Design Standards
* Prototyping skills (General Assembly skills)
* Research skills & summarising ideas for solutions & innovations
* Documentation & technical writing skills
Desirable Experience
* 3D CAD (Any package)
* FE analysis
* Document/Source Control Systems
