Swarm Apprenticeships are working with a large food products supplier in Melton Constable, Norfolk. As a Finance Apprentice you will be performing daily accounting and financial tasks within the finance department and ensuring that you maintain and achieve training deadlines. After the apprenticeship we anticipate a full-time role, in which you can possibly take further apprenticeship courses and become a fully-fledged accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

· To assist the Management Accountant and Finance Assistants with posting cash and sales invoices to the sales ledger.

· Support the Finance assistant in maintaining the supplier and customer database. (Email address, contact name, phone number, bank details etc)

· Monitor online email account for call back messages – liaise with the Finance assistant

· Provide support to the Finance Assistant in dealing with queries.

· Learning the banking systems and process for banking.

· Assist the Finance assistant with data inputting for Management Accounts

· General administrative duties: filing, photocopying, archiving and shredding.

· To carry out any other relevant duties as determined by the Management Accountant and Finance Assistant

Educational attainments

5 GCSE’s (Including Maths & English desirable) or equivalent. A Level (desirable)

Knowledge and Experience

Proficient in MS Word, Excel and accounting software (desirable)

There is also an Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship attached to this position which should be completed in around 12 months. Includes AAT Qualification: AAT Foundation certificate in accounting (Level 2)
