Production Chemistry Technician – West Sussex – £28-33000pa
Our West Sussex based client is a leader in the design and manufacture of precision instruments for applications in the Process Industry.
They require an experienced Chemistry Technician with an understanding in mechanical applications to support both production tasks involving hazardous chemicals and new product development.
Responsibilities:
The role is split between production and new product development.
Production Support:
* Assist the production team by carrying out tasks involving hazardous chemicals.
* Resolve production issues that require chemical experimentation.
* Improve the safety and efficiency of current practices.
* Lead a team of colleagues responsible for site spillage clearance.
New Product Development Support:
* Support new product developments in terms of prototype and validation – chemical, mechanical, hydraulic and electronic type tasks.
* Document test data and generate formal reports as required.
* Support the transfer of BoM data into an MRP environment.
* Generate engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
* Have an understanding of drawing control via Vault or equivalent.
Experience/Qualifications:
* Educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent in Chemistry.
* Proven experience working in a laboratory environment.
* Experience and confidence in working with hazardous chemicals.
* A working knowledge of GHS and COSHH regulations.
* Capable of leading small teams of individuals.
