Procurement Officer (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £17.35 per hour

Apple Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Level 6 Procurement Officer for our public sector client in Belfast city centre.

Temporary initially until 27/08/2021 (Maternity Cover). £14.46 an hour Mon-fri 9-5.

Main roles and Responsibilities:

The Procurement Officer’s main duties will include but not necessarily be limited to:

1. Procurement of contracts to ensure compliance with legislation, NI Public Procurement Policy.

1. Ensure that all procurement exercises are taken forward in accordance with best practice methodologies and that each procurement realises maximised value for money.

1. Support the Senior Procurement Project Manager in the commercial management of contracts.

1. Support the Senior Procurement Project Manager in providing strategic advice and guidance to internal clients and staff in line with NI Public Procurement Policy, best practice and standing orders.

1. Support the Senior Procurement Project Manager in managing and operating category management in the delivery and management of new procurements, renewal exercises and contracts listed on the contracts register.

1. In conjunction with internal clients and end users, assist in the preparation and review of specifications.

1. To be a central source of management information regarding markets and industries to ensure robust management information is available for all procurement exercises.

1. Support the Senior Procurement Project Manager in the general administration of the section including provision of statistical data, staff management and any further duties as identified by the Senior Procurement Project Manager.

Essential Criteria:

Any other Qualifications/Experience

MCIPS qualified or a degree or equivalent 3rd level qualification in procurement or a business/ commercial related discipline, plus at least 2 years’ relevant post qualification experience.

Exceptionally, 5 years’ working experience in a

procurement related discipline may be accepted.
