Salary: £48,000 per year

The Youth Education Manager will be responsible for running a high-quality independent training centre, offering a supportiveinclusive, alternative routeway in education and employment. You will lead your team to provide a safe and engaging environment for all learners and an exciting and rewarding working environment for the local team. The ultimate aim of our centres and your role is to drive learner success, whether through educational progression or successful attainment of work experience and/or employment.

You will take day-to-day commercial responsibility for the centre, helping drive growth in learner numbers, profitability and progression in line with our strategic plan and vision for the business as a whole. You will look for innovative ways to develop and grow the centre over time and will contribute to the strategic thinking and planning for the division of our client as a whole.

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, demonstrate initiative, have strong business and financial management skills alongside first class people management abilities.

As the Youth Education Manager your role will include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of first class learning programmes for young people undertaking Traineeship and Study Programme courses
  • Building a dynamic brand and strong awareness and visible presence of the centre in your local community
  • Ensuring the centre is the preferred referral destination for all referral partners, and has a good local reputation making parents of younger learners happy to support their children’s attendance
  • Managing the centres’ overall business development and growth
  • Building and retaining a high-quality, motivated and inspirational team to achieve excellent academic and progression results
  • Displaying a high level of integrity and having a real passion to make a real impact on all learner’s futures.

We’re looking for candidates with a varied skill set and experience, who have a real desire to make a difference to the lives of young people in your local community and drive high performance within their training centre. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant people management experience
  • Evidence of coaching and mentoring skills
  • Demonstratable experience of interpreting data and producing reports
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a demanding work environment whilst balancing multiple priorities
  • Have experience of programmes aimed at young people
  • Experience working closely with the senior team
  • Successful track record of managing budgets
  • Working in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with ESFA Funding
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Consistently hard working and driven
  • Highly organized, able to delegate and meet deadlines
  • Receptive to feedback and change with a positive attitude
  • Work well under pressure
  • Self motivated
  • Have a real passion and interest in education and young peoples academic and professional development

Holding the following would be an advantage:

  • Hold a CMI or ILM qualification
  • Previous experience in the welfare to work sector
  • Experience the Ofsted inspection process
