Salary: £300 – £360 per day
Reporting into the Operations Director, the key attributes of this role are leadership, planning, implementation, engagement and accountability within a successful and rapidly growing manufacturing business.
HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER
STOKE ON TRENT
INTERIM 6 MONTHS
FULL TIME HOURS
£38-£40K DOE
THE ROLE
* Leading the development of H&S objectives within a H&S strategic plan, implementing best practices with the target of achieving ISO 45001 accreditation.
* Prioritising H&S actions/initiatives and successfully transferring these to operational plans relevant to the level of risk.
* Co-ordinating monthly H&S area audits, compiling and measuring outputs and actions.
* Leading Health and Safety campaigns from the front engaging all employees to develop a pro-active culture.
* Ensuring that H&S systems and policies are applied across all departments.
* Working with the OD, developing H&S KPI’s, adding metrics to the Operations Dashboard to support decision making and H&S performance development.
* Developing Contractor and Visitor Site Safety procedures.
* Leading the completion of H&S incident investigations and learning reviews.
* Supporting Capex requests to ensure H&S requirements and considerations are met.
* Proactively drive the development of on-site H&S competencies and approve H&S changes in design and operations.
* Development of relevant training requirements to employee’s training
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Minimum of General Certification in NEBOSH, preferably Diploma level.
* Considerable experience in EHS / Safety Management.
* Understanding and experience of Safety Management Systems OHSAS 18001, ISO45001.
* Knowledge of IEMA and ISO 14001 an advantage.
* Experience of working to and achieving specific targets and deadlines.
* A confident communicator and change agent to all levels in the Business.
* Proactive, hands-on, engaging approach.
