Salary: £26,000 per year

The Role
Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will be responsible for managing staff and equipment across your line to deliver on time the right quantity and quality of products at the right costings and to meet customer expectations
Responsibilities
Running one or more production lines and a team of operatives
To ensure the job change overs are managed on the line and keep downtime to a minimum
Ensure machinery is correctly set up so that the product falls within the production standard and runs efficiently
To liase with the quality team to ensure that the product and the grade outs are within production- customer standard- specification
To advise the production supervisor of any factors that may prevent them from achieving the objectives- targets for their line
To maintain morale and discipline
Complete all paperwork required with accuracy and legibility
Ensure standards are maintained at all times by the operatives
To assist in training and development of new starters

Accountabilities
To ensure that all label and quality details comply with customer specifications or other prescribed standards by liaison with the quality team
To ensure that all operatives are aware of the production objectives so that they can perform their duties in the most efficient way
To ensure that all operatives are trained and instructed to meet all of the company and customer requirements
To complete the production sheets accurately and clearly to provide smooth information flow and ensure all resources are recorded correctly
Keep the packhouse clean and tidy and adhere to the clean as you go policy at all times
To report to the Supervisor any individual failings t follow the company’s policies and procedures
Ensure that the final product meets customer specifications
To liaise with agency staff on the line providing feed back on capabilities to the Supervisor
Ensure the line complies with Health and Safety and no walk ways- fire exits are blocked with products- products are stacked safely and securely
Trained staff only to use equipment trained to do so

Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience within food production
Excellent communication kills both written and oral
Team working skills essential

Personal attributes & qualities
Flexible attitude to hours of work to suit business needs
Able to lead by example
Good level of numeracy
Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
