Care Support Worker

BRC social housing are seeking experienced support workers to work in a supported living service in Bristol, supporting clients that have learning disabilities.
This is a temporary contract running for 12 weeks, with a view to going permanent thereafter.

The main function of this role is to assume responsibility for all aspects of the service user’s housing related support and personal care needs as identified in their support plan.

The main duties will be:

Adopt person centered approaches when supporting Individuals in every aspect of their daily lives
Work with Individuals assisting them in undertaking tasks in their home. This may include routine personal and domestic tasks such as washing, ironing and
Simple mending of clothes, housework, cleaning and tidying, budgeting, shopping for food, preparing, cooking and serving meals.
Support Individuals in maintaining appropriate contact with family and friends
Assist clients to access advocacy services
Assistance with claiming benefits and budgeting, support with minor household repairs,

You must be able to work shifts including evenings, sleep-ins, week-ends and bank holidays, as rostered.

It is essential you have the following:

Working in Social care setting or similar and have worked with clients that have complex needs
Manuel Handling
Medication training
Health & Safety
Food Hygiene
Infection Control
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

You must have an enhanced CRB check less than 12 months old.
