Warehouse Operative

Salary: £26,000 – £27,027 per year

A well-established independent retailer, Gardiner Haskins Interiors, is looking to recruit a full-time (part-time would also be considered) Warehouse Operative to join the team at their Central Bristol store and assist with all aspects of their busy loading bay & warehouse. This key position needs to receive goods in and, also despatch customers’ orders efficiently and accurately.
Main responsibilities include:
* Unloading and accepting deliveries of Goods Inwards according to company procedures
* Liaise with retail departments to ensure customer goods are ready for dispatch
* Loading of Goods Out, following correct admin procedures
* Liaise with internal and external transport and delivery contractors
* Assist with the management and accountability of stocks and stock movement
* Ensure H&S and manual handling policies are followed.
* Undertake waste management and recycling of waste/packaging as well as general housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean & safe environment
* Occasional cover in the car park may be required (training given)
The successful candidate will have past experience in a warehouse environment. A Counterbalance Forklift truck licence and a clean, current driving licence is essential.
The post requires a person who is happy with physically demanding work but also has to be organised and provide a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate department administration is completed. The ability to forward plan and react quickly to changing circumstances is essential.
Flexibility, reliability, and honesty are key to the performance of this role in addition to being able to take instruction, work well collaboratively or on their own initiative. Competent IT skills are required.
A flexible approach to working hours (5 days out of 7 days covering weekends and bank holidays but NO night work) will be required to ensure the department provides the highest level of service to both internal and external customers.
