Video QC Operative – Remote

Salary: £28,800 – £31,200 per year

Our client is an AV production agency with a wide range of customers in the entertainment business. We are now looking for a full-time Video QC Operative to join the team, working 100% remotely. 

Job spec:

• Full runtime QC of encoded audio and video, against VOD platform or other client specs, with an eye for both technical and content fails

• Careful checking and QC of all AV assets, metadata, and artwork against VOD platform specs ahead of delivery

• Writing QAR (Quality Assessment Reports) for ingested assets, and reporting back on findings

• Identifying suitable preview clips and chapter points from QC’d content

• QC of English subtitle streams for sync and content

• Functionality and navigation checks of authored DVDs and Blu-rays

• Agreement with and adherence to our security and anti-piracy policies and careful handling of pre-release material

Required skills:

• 3 years experience as a QC operative, preferably in the Home Entertainment TV and film sector

• An excellent knowledge and understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere, and the workflows therein

• Knowledge of DVD and Blu-ray functionality

• A meticulous eye for detail and a high degree of ability to spot technical and content errors 

• Exceptionally high levels of concentration, over extended periods of time

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• An ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

• A problem-solving mind-set and positive attitude, and an ability to think on one’s feet

• Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines 

• A good understanding of subtitling specs and formats

• Must be organized, diligent, and detail-oriented

Desirable Skills:

• An keen interest in watching UK/US independent film, as well as US/UK TV series

• Video editing and processing experience would be a bonus
