Salary: £26,000 per year

We are working with a charity that support victims of abuse within the community.

Due to an increase in referrals, we are in urgent need of a Children & Young Person’s Worker for a temporary assignment.

Full Time Hours; predominately working Monday to Friday.

You will hold a caseload of approx. 20 children (4-17) who have experienced domestic abuse and deliver 6-8 sessions with them in school covering things such as; safety planning, confidence and self-esteem building, and helping them to develop coping strategies.

You will work alongside each child/young person ensuring an age appropriate response and liaising closely with the mother/carer/non-abusive parent and as well as nursery/school and other appropriate agencies, to meet a range of needs.

We’re looking for someone with the following experience; experience of advocacy and support work with vulnerable children and young people, multi-agency meetings including core groups, ICPC/RCPC and MARAC, Knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse issues and the needs of children and young people affected by/ have witnessed it, Knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection processes and practice and a working knowledge of disability, mental health and drug and alcohol issues – complex needs.

A car driver is essential

Enhanced DBS is essential and must be issued within the last twelve months or be on the update service.
