Salary: £26,000 – £26,400 per year
Our Client are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to develop into a projects / design engineer.
The successful candidate will perform detailed design drawings of an electric heat tracing system for projects worldwide for various energy, chemical and engineering and construction companies with projects in oil and gas plants, refineries, pipelines, and other specialty engineering and construction projects.
In this position, the designer will work closely with an engineer to analyse customer drawings, specifications, and project requirements to design an electric heating system that meets the contract requirements. The designer will learn to create project deliverables such as Isometrics, control panel schedules, and instrument schedules executed to meet our customers contracts.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interpret piping and instrument diagrams, plot plans, piping isometrics, piping plan drawings, piping specifications and bills of materials and instrument details for projects in oil and gas plants, refineries, pipelines, and other specialty engineering projects.
Produce engineering calculations and Heat Tracing Designs using in house software.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with other functions and departments.
Provide technical support for site activities from the office or physically at the location of works.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction to support the teams overall success and exceed customer expectations.
Verify all completed work complies with applicable specifications, customer drawings, codes, etc.
Required Skils
• Computer literate – proficient in a wide variety of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access).
• Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and a good communicator both written and oral.
Preferred Skills
• Experienced in AutoCAD 2D
• Technical understanding of Ohm’s Law, and electrical properties.
• Display an understanding of physical properties such as temperature, length, voltage, current.
• Able to develop relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, etc.
• Travel may be required to project sites or fabrication facilities either UK based or overseas.
• Display positive energy, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
• PDMS experience would be a significant advantage
