Salary: £56,100 – £66,000 per year

Job Role

A new opportunity has arisen within for a Group Internal Audit Manager to join our Group Risk and Assurance team at Seetec.

Reporting to the Director of Assurance – Seetec Group you will be responsible for developing and implementing a Group-wide internal audit strategy, risk-based internal audit plan and approach and to provide assurance to the ARA Committee, Executive assurance Board (EAB) and GEB around governance, internal controls and risk management effectiveness.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and embed a strategy, framework and approach for providing risk-based assurance around the key risks faced by Seetec and it’s supply chain. You will also be required to implement a sustainable risk-based assurance culture across the first and second lines of defence as a key enabler to Seetec achieving its business objectives and plans.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of having worked at both strategic and operational level to support delivery of effective risk-based internal audit services within a small team. You will also need to have excellent influencing, communication and negotiating skills and the ability to interpret a broad range of complex information.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide leadership and direction to a small internal audit team which forms part of the wider Group Risk & Assurance function.
* Work closely with the Director of Assurance to ensure there is a joined-up risk-based assurance strategy and framework.
* Help develop a risk-based Internal Audit Plan aligned to the objectives and business plans of the organisation.
* Plan and manage internal audit assignments and agree management actions as part of each audit assignment.
* Report on each assignment using best practice executive reporting, conclusions, action plans ensuring that key stakeholders are involved.
* Report to Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee & Exec Assurance Board, utilising assurance dashboards and executive summary reports, as appropriate, which focus on strategic and risk-based matters.
* Build strong relationships with operational management, the GRA team, external auditors and other key stakeholders.
* Proactively be involved in high profile audit and consultancy reviews and provide insight to management and other stakeholders.
* Ensure continuous improvement and best practice internal auditing to meet our assurance needs.

Skills and Experience

Essential:
* Educated to Degree level.
* Demonstrable evidence of having worked at both strategic and operational level to support delivery of effective risk-based internal audit services working with a small team.
* Excellent influencing, communication and negotiating skills.
* IT literate.
* Ability to interpret a broad range of complex information, evaluate effectiveness of assurance and deliver excellent and informative written and oral presentations.
* Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and without close supervision, and drive improvements in controls and assurance through collaboration at all levels of the organisation.
* Flexibility to move between business areas and subjects, running multiple agendas in different areas.
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Desirable:
* Qualified accountant with membership of an appropriate professional institution (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and demonstrable experience in a senior internal audit role.
* Considerable senior level experience of delivering internal audit in a multi-site environment.
* Experience of using and implementing integrated compliance, audit and risk tools and coaching others to use these tools.
* A good knowledge and understanding of implementing assurance frameworks.
* Experience of working with a small shared service team.
* Experience of working for an organisation providing public services in a multi-site setting.
* Experience of business partnering with risk champions in the first line of defence.

Additional Information

Salary £56,100 – £66,000per annum.
