Gas Engineer / Gas Meter Installer

The Role:

Gas Engineers required to instal Gas Meters into residential premises in set postal code regions of England and Scotland.

High density of workload available and the opportunity to increase earnings based upon performance through an attractive bonus scheme.

This position is an ongoing temporary contract and labour only, which means that everything is supplied and you are required to only provide your technical expertise as a Gas meter Fitter.

Payment is a base £100 per worked day, plus a bonus scheme on a per fitted meter basis, with the opportunity to earn as much as you want and is only limited to the quality of your work and the time and effort you want to out into the job.

Gas Meter Installers regularly earn over £1,200 per week on this long term metering contract.

The Candidate:

You will have to meet the following criteria, to stand any chance of getting on this exceptional long term, high earning contract;

1) Gas Meter Installer or Gas only (ACS required: CCN1 or CMA1 and MET1 or MET2)

2) A checkable* history with a reputable Gas Metering Main or Sub-contractor, DNO or Utilities Company.
* References will be checked from all your previous employers to verify your technical ability for a period of at least five years.

3) Be prepared to work outside of your local area if required

4) Work evenings, weekends and on-call via a Rota System if required

5) Commit to the temporary contract for at least 26 working weeks

6) Be prepared to be vetted via a Criminal Record Check

7) Have a maximum of six penalty points on your driving license

8) Be prepared to drive a van that has a tracker fitted

9) Be prepared to take a detailed trade test and run the risk of having any offer of employment immediately removed, should you fail to achieve a 90% Pass Mark

10) Be prepared to attend a Health and Safety Induction, which may be outside of your local area and involve overnight stays (all expenses covered).

This is a long term temporary contract, which may offer the opportunity of permanent employment, subject to your performance and of course, wanting the position.

c) All meters fitted are paid at an attractive rate and a bonus scheme applies, so the more you fit per day, the more you earn. example below:

Fit 1 to 5 Meters = £100.00 Minimum Day Payment
Fit 6 Meters = £120
Fit 7 Meters = £140
Fit 8 Meters = £160
Fit 9 meters = £180
Fit 10 Meters = £200

d) Runrec guarantee to increase your meter fitted pay rate three times in the first twelve months.

e) Earnings of £800+ per week or more is regularly achievable after paid induction period

f) You will be supplied with a Vehicle, Fuel Card, Tools, PPE, Phone

g) You will have the opportunity to work on behalf of one of the leading contractors in the UK

k) Payment is via the Payment Company of your choice or your own Ltd Company, giving you the opportunity to off-set tax against legitimate business expenses.

This temporary contract is via Runrec Ltd Vetting and Recruitment. We are an Agency and will support you and act as a mid way point between our Client, our Candidate (you) and the Payment Company (who you choose to get paid through).

The Client for this contract is one of the UK’s largest and a leading utilities metering contractor, which Meter Installers working nationwide on gas, electrical and dual fuel metering projects
