Cognos Developer

Salary: £48,000 – £72,000 per year

A full time, perm Cognos Dev is needed for a well-established Manchester, UK based Co, providing a multitude of Analytics & App Dev services, coupled with Cloud & Managed services to business customers & leading tech partners throughout the world. The Co’s core ‘lines of business’ are B2B Computing & Cloud Services, including UK wide end-user Analytics solution deployment for many major corporate organisations.
They also successfully partner with major tech vendors, IBM / ThoughtSpot / AWS / Microsoft / Starburst, in delivering large scale deployment & support services throughout the UK for Analytics solutions.
You’ll work within the Consulting team delivering a myriad of client services on the IBM Cognos Analytics platform. Working on new workstreams & projects or enhancing solution estates. You’ll be designing, developing & deploying solutions on the IBM Cognos platform across a wide range of client industries & business disciplines, taking on projects from ongoing project roll-outs & plans, prepared Statements of Work through to the full dev life-cycle & advise internal & external stakeholders on any Risks, Project Quality or Project Timeline items arising from the dev of the project.
They have Cognos & Analytics experts on hand to support or split larger project work across the teams, you’ll assist in all levels of reporting, analysis & execution of Cognos Analytics projects, being measured on successful implementation of projects & workstreams based on client reqs according to project budgets & timescales.
You’ll be joining an established business with growth aspirations underpinned by a mature Sales Engagement strategy & plans, experience in creating end to end Cognos solutions for a range of industry sectors & business apps. Experience of Cognos Analytics, TM1 / Planning Analytics, SQL Server SSIS, PowerBI, Qlik, as well as the Cognos Analytics app will be a distinct advantage.
Prepare & input in subject matter expertise for Project Statements of Work.

* Undertake necessary planning, design, dev & deployment of project activities to their client base using Cognos Analytics

* Update & input in project plans

* Keep abreast of changing & new versions of IBM Cognos Analytics

* Record consulting time accurately & timely on in-house timesheets systems

* Expose data to end users using Cognos Analytics portal

* Design & build OLAP models in Cognos Transformation server, MSOLAP Cubes

* Act as a Cognos Analytics solution architect & data modeller to design robust, secure & supportable data solutions to meet client requirements

* Support departmental teams such as Sales & Support teams with any client specific requests requiring Cognos Analytics skills & experience

* Undertake appropriate Tech certs, exams on Vendor toolsets

You must be based in UK, able to visit the offices in Manchester, UK, with valid up to date driving license & Passport, ability travel throughout the UK & abroad is required.
