Salary: £26,000 – £37,200 per year

This growing business that specialises in installing and repairing inverters and manufacturing control panels, is seeking an experienced Electronics Workshop Supervisor. Reporting into the workshop manager and supporting the supervising side daily. Assisting with overseeing a team of five that is still growing. Your role involve: –

* Supervise and provide technical support to workshop operatives repairs and installation both onsite and workshop

* Be On call 1 week a month

* Prepared to do overtime (late shifts involve earning time and a half and double time for weekends)

* Not just managing the team but conducting bench work including: –

* Servo motor repairs, Control panel wiring, Control panel design

* Electronics repair

* Inverter use and repair including installation, commissioning, and programming

* Act as a working supervisor e.g., Supervisor is expected to carry out work in the normal jobs that come into the workshop on a day-to-day basis. Supervisor must have key skills in one or more of the following activities

* To be available to work and supervise on site

* Ensure that the correct workshop procedures are being carried out on shop floor

* Allocate jobs to operatives and monitor progress including job times in line with quotation

* Monitor and inspect all jobs in progress at key stages and prior to delivery; ensure all findings are recorded

* Ensure ordering materials and job bookings are passed to appropriate clerk within normal hours

* Assist with ensuring all training records for operatives are maintained

* Deputise for Workshop Manager when required and take responsibility for all workshop activity

* Managing Health & Safety:

* Deal with customer or supplier correspondence including reports and costings and booking in jobs

* Attend customer sites to cost and carry out site work

To apply you must have: –

* Supervisory/team leader or site foreman experience within an electronics Workshop

* Experienced in all aspects of inverters including installation and manufacturing

* Be a time served fitter and must have worked across a range of motors including AC & DC machines

* Sound knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering

* Happy to work Monday to Friday 8 – 4.30 pm plus late shifts on a rota basis
