Management Accountant

Salary: £42,000 – £50,400 per year

This well-known and high-profile charity are looking to recruit an experienced interim Project Accountant- Finance Business Partner, within their finance team to support a key grant funded programme.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead on the production of monthly detailed reporting to the key programme stakeholders whilst ensuring and providing insightful reporting and commentary of expenditure as required by the funder. Your daily duties will include:

• Participate in the financial management of the project by the monitoring actuals against budgets, service plans and forecasts
• Reconcile monthly, quarterly and annual claims with the accounting records and with both internal and partners’ records; ensuring the accurate financial recording of all transactions on the project
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of financial reports in the funder required formats
• Liaising with project management to address any issues and suggest options to mitigate any variations from the resourcing plans
• Provide timely and accurate management information for decision making for both financial and non-financial staff
• Play an active part in the budget planning and budget setting cycle, both annual and longer term
• Produce the financial information required for donor reporting, and work with service managers to ensure that narrative reports to funders are consistent with financial reporting
• Review grant agreements and contracts ensuring requirements can be and are met by the organisation

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA part qualified with experience working within and project accountant where you have business partnered with key stakeholders and programme directors. You must possess management accounting experience with strong budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.

It would be advantageous if you have proven experience working with a programme/project accounting role within grant funded programmes – you must be a strong business partner and have the ability to analyse complex financial data.

In this key role it is essential that you have strong written and verbal communications skills whilst possessing strong systems skills with advanced knowledge of Excel.
