Permanent Nursery Nurse in Luton
We are looking for a Permanent Nursery Nurse in Luton x 2! Tick Education have been asked by one of their primary schools in Luton to secure two permanent level 3 nursery nurses in early years for a December/January start. Both roles will be for permanent positions and the ideal candidate will go directly onto a contract with the school. The school is marked as good by Ofsted and has a good ethos for all the teaching staff.
The role will be 38 weeks a year with a two-week shift pattern of 8am till 4pm one week and then 9am till 5pm the next week.
Responsibility of the role include
- Responsible for a designated group of Nursery children
- Provide the children with appropriate support and encouragement in the development of social skills
- Initiate and co-ordinate all areas of topic and theme planning in liaison with the Nursery Assistant and when appropriate with the Nursery Manager
- Liaise with parents concerning children’s progress and other relevant matters, including children’s welfare
- Monitor and keep appropriate records on each child, including their progress and development
- Be responsible for supervision and the Health and Safety of each child in their care and share the responsibility for safeguarding, promoting the welfare of all the children in the Nursery.
- Supervise children in their use of toilet facilities, including changing nappies and clothing; and encourage personal hygiene
- Assist with the general cleaning and tidying of Nursery rooms and activity areas
- Participate on a personal or representative level at whole School Staff Meetings
- Attend monthly held Nursery Staff Meetings
- Attend regular supervision meetings and annual appraisal and review
- Attend appropriate in-service training and professional development, as agreed at annual appraisal and review
- Must have level 3 nursery nurse or teaching assistant qualification in early years
