Permanent Nursery Nurse in Luton

We are looking for a Permanent Nursery Nurse in Luton x 2! Tick Education have been asked by one of their primary schools in Luton to secure two permanent level 3 nursery nurses in early years for a December/January start. Both roles will be for permanent positions and the ideal candidate will go directly onto a contract with the school. The school is marked as good by Ofsted and has a good ethos for all the teaching staff.

The role will be 38 weeks a year with a two-week shift pattern of 8am till 4pm one week and then 9am till 5pm the next week.

Responsibility of the role include

  1. Responsible for a designated group of Nursery children
  1. Provide the children with appropriate support and encouragement in the development of social skills
  1. Initiate and co-ordinate all areas of topic and theme planning in liaison with the Nursery Assistant and when appropriate with the Nursery Manager
  1. Liaise with parents concerning children’s progress and other relevant matters, including children’s welfare
  1. Monitor and keep appropriate records on each child, including their progress and development
  1. Be responsible for supervision and the Health and Safety of each child in their care and share the responsibility for safeguarding, promoting the welfare of all the children in the Nursery.
  1. Supervise children in their use of toilet facilities, including changing nappies and clothing; and encourage personal hygiene
  1. Assist with the general cleaning and tidying of Nursery rooms and activity areas
  1. Participate on a personal or representative level at whole School Staff Meetings
  1. Attend monthly held Nursery Staff Meetings
  1. Attend regular supervision meetings and annual appraisal and review
  1. Attend appropriate in-service training and professional development, as agreed at annual appraisal and review
  2. Must have level 3 nursery nurse or teaching assistant qualification in early years
