Salary: £38,400 – £50,400 per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Medical Workforce and Recruitment Team within People and Organisational Development; this is a newly formed team and will provide a number of opportunities for the successful candidate to develop new processes.

To take responsibility for the day to day supervision of the Medical Workforce Team, under the leadership of the Medical Workforce and Recruitment Lead ensuring that the high standards of the service are maintained.

To implement and evaluate strategies related to the medical workforce and provide highly specialist advice to all colleagues across the Trust, specifically the HR Business partners and Care Group leaders on medical staffing terms and conditions and related matters.

To assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of Recruitment and Retention Strategies in relation to the successful employment of medical staff and provide specialist advice to line managers on recruitment and retention issues

Support the high quality cost effective and efficient Medical Workforce Team providing a comprehensive service across the Trust

Responsible for providing a range of management information in relation to the medical workforce, including a range of contractual issues such as pay, job planning, medical contracts, exception reporting, recruitment and retention premia, locum activity and spend and holiday and study allocation

1. In consultation and co-operation with the Medical Workforce and Recruitment Lead, lead and contribute to the smooth running of the Medical Staffing Department using own initiative at all times

1. Responsible for setting high standards of professionalism and ensuring relevant and appropriate professional development is undertaken by all team members.

1. To provide medical staffing guidance to all relevant parties including (but not exhaustively) Doctors in Training, SAS Doctors, Consultants, Clinical Tutor, Head of Education, Deaneries Office in a timely and efficient manner, reflecting the policies, values and principles of the Trust.

1. To actively participate in policy development relating the Medical Workforce. Ensuring that all policy and practice include any legislative changes, e.g. Data Protection, Discrimination, Equality Act 2010 etc
