Yard Labourer Role
Coinford Ltd is currently seeking to employ a Yard Labourer. The role would be working with Coinford Plant Ltd who are an established and expanding tool and plant hire company supplying plant and tools to Coinford Construction, a large well-respected groundwork and concrete frame contractor based in Burstow near Horley, Surrey.
Job Description:
This role ensures that picking lists are used to ensure that the products picked are correct and placed into the correct transportation method. Ensuring correct loading and unloading in accordance with the current process. To work in a safe environment and must comply to Company Health & Safety systems. Yard housekeeping is maintained, and stock levels are managed. To carry out repair work and painting of non-mechanical items as deemed necessary. The right candidate must have good communication skills and a proven successful team working background.
Duties will include:
* Ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
* Ensure working in a safe environment and that Company Health & Safety systems is followed.
* Stock Control – ensuring minimum stock levels are managed and reporting any stock issues at the earliest opportunity.
* Ensure that loads are checked against picking lists to control deliveries and minimise part loads.
* Yard housekeeping is maintained.
* Vehicle movements are safe utilising banksman.
* Loads are safe for moving around the yard.
* Loads are pre-slung properly, utilising the correct methods as dictated by the lifting plans.
* Stacking and storing – ensure banding is suitable and stacking is in line with company policy.
* Follow current lift plans.
* Follow current RAMS for the yard area.
* Report unsafe return loads.
* Ensure equipment is returned to stockpiles asap.
* Segregation of equipment; Loads, Off hires, Damage / Repair / Scrap
* Carry out repair work on non mech items as deemed necessary.
* Liaising with transport department, to prepare the following day loads.
* Painting of CPL False and Formwork
* Ensure loading is carried out efficiently and promptly, to fully load in the evening wherever possible.
The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of their role.
The ideal person will have:
* Forklift qualification and some formwork experience would be an advantage but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Work well under pressure.
* Be able to meet deadlines.
