A fantastic opportunity has arisen at our Pilsworth Facility for an experienced Weighbridge Administrator, to maintain on-site administration systems and provide remote administration support to selected sites across the Northern region, alongside landfill and landfill aftercare business support and weighbridge operation.

£20,425 + Benefits
Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday, with alternate Saturdays 07:00 – 13:00, 43 Hours per week

Economic and legislative drivers are diverting waste from landfill, but it remains and important part of UK waste strategy for waste that cannot be reused, recycled or recovered.
We operate 22 landfill sites across the UK, providing safe and efficient disposal of non-recyclable residues and generating renewable energy, as well as providing a high quality wildlife habitat following closure from commercial use.

We are looking for a highly organised individual with experience of working with nominal ledger principles, cost control, budgeting, forecasting and month end procedures. Great communication skills and the ability to act responsibly with confidential and sensitive information are essential to the role.

The role demands excellent PC skills would suit a someone from an office environment or administration background, who is competent in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word to an intermediate level. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working tight timescales, often managing conflicting priorities within a high pressure environment, and with minimal supervision.

A full driving licence is essential to the role.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Weighbridge Operation and administration (to be shared with the Weighbridge Operative) Booking in asbestos and difficult wastes.
• Maintaining on-site Landfill records and filing, both in hard copy and electronic copy on the relevant departmental Share Drives.
• Assisting in administration and operational duties connected to the Pilsworth Leachate Treatment Plant, and Pilsworth Materials Recycling Facility.
• Maintaining Landfill Aftercare records and filing, both in hard copy and electronic copy on the relevant departmental share Drives.
• Administration of Landfill Aftercare documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, accruals, forecasting, customer queries, credit notes, time sheets, plant records, delivery notes, leave, PPE records, meeting minutes, fuel returns and health and safety records.
• Auditing of weighbridge functions to include reconciliation of manual tickets, daily ticket audits, amended tickets and cash handling.

Skills / Experience:

• High standard of PC literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Knowledge of nominal ledger principles, cost control, budgeting, forecasting and month end procedures
• Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
• Highly organised, with the ability to work to set deadlines.
• Weighbridge operations and associated administration systems
• Ability to act responsibly with confidential and sensitive information.
