Graduate Acoustics Engineer

Our client, a highly reputable and established engineering organisation, is looking for a recent graduate Acoustics Engineer to join them.

The Graduate Acoustics Engineer will provide support to the Principal Acoustics Engineer on underwater acoustics, sonar system development and transducer design. This will include research and development, production engineering, acoustics engineering, instrumentation and product lifecycle engineering activities.

Main Duties for Graduate Acoustics Engineer:
Development of acoustic transducers and sonar system design
Development of in house transducer modelling and analysis capabilities
Contribution to the identification of product and product technology opportunities
Facilitation and coordination of conceptual and prototype design programmes through design proving, test and documentation to production manufacture
Contribution to customer requirements capture, including preparation of bid and project documentation, specifications and reports
Assistance with new and ongoing production manufacturing and test support

Key Skills:

An ability to use in-house 2D and 3D CAD drawing packages and FEA multi-physics software tools would be an advantage
Knowledge or experience of DSP and inboard processing is advantageous
Educated to degree level or equivalent

This position may involve contact with resins, polymers and hydrocarbon based oils
You must be eligible and willing to obtain UK security clearance
This position will involve travel within the UK and therefore a full UK Driving Licence will be advantageous
This position may periodically necessitate travel abroad
