Acoustics Engineer

Our client is a specialist provider of systems, equipment and consultancy services to the UK Defence industry and other critical systems sectors.

We are currently seeking an Acoustics Engineer to join a multi-disciplined team based at their North Devon site.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

– development of acoustic transducers and sonar system design
– development of in house transducer modelling and analysis capabilities
– contribution to the identification of product technology opportunities
– co-ordination of conceptual and prototype design programmes
– contribution to customer requirements capture
– assistance with new and ongoing production manufacturing and test support

Skills and experience sought include:

– knowledge and experience of the digitisation/instrumentation of acoustic / sensor / sonar data is desirable
– knowledge of DSP and inboard processing an advantage
– knowledge of transducers
– ability to use in-house 2D and 3D CAD drawing packages and FEA multi-physics software tools an advantage
– candidates should be degree qualified, or equivalent, with UK driving license and ability to gain UK security clearance.

This position is open to candidates with a range of experience levels including new graduates and post-graduates with Acoustics related qualifications.
