JOB CONTEXT AND CONTENT
HMM are a global transportation and liner shipping company.
• This role embraces daily pricing related tasks related to services between Europe and USA or Asia, or within Europe to the West Africa Trade
• The Job Holder needs to ensure that rate requests are answered accurately and swiftly in compliance with company guidelines, and that local offices are assisted and guided to comply fully with pricing related policies and guidelines.
• Extensive use of in-house systems, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
PURPOSE OF JOB
• To respond to pricing enquiries, rate requests, and tenders using management guidelines and strategies in place, pricing performance related reporting and analysis as required, also service contract administration and auditing.
• Commercial management of pricing related activities for North European areas (mostly Trans-Atlantic related), and holiday cover as required for South European areas.
• Assist in achieving Trade Management objectives from a lift and financial perspective, including FMC and C-TPAT documentary and operational compliance. This role also includes covering the manager position in case of holiday or sickness.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Rate Quotation and Filing where necessary
• Rate Requests, Tender participation and completion
• Tariff and surcharge management including West Africa trade
• A/C Development
• Business plan & GRI plan
• Maintain Pricing Guideline and Databases
• CRM activities
• Coordination with Marketing & Space Management Team
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
• Shipping related qualifications an advantage. Competence in Excel / PowerPoint required advanced levels desirable.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
• Shipping experience within a pricing environment preferable in a shipping line HQ, including 1-2 years` experience related to pricing.
• A valid EU work permit or right to work within the UK
