These positions will offer you the chance to receive the highest standard of smart meter training with direct progression into employment, subject to you passing the course examinations.

Interviews will take place locally within your Postal Code region prior to any course starting or fees have to be paid.

The Training Opportunity

Reservations are now being taken for new courses for candidates from any background to undertake a detailed training course to become a fully qualified Dual Fuel Meter Installer (Level 2 Diploma Smart Metering).

All of these courses are self funded, which means that you will have to pay for the full cost of training before the course starts. However, once qualified and in permanent employment, the course cost will be paid back to you via the company’s retention bonus and the longer you stay the more you get back (up to 100% of the net course cost*).

A brand new entrant to the metering industry would have to Salary: £26,000(plus VAT) for a minimum** 14 week course (30 days classroom and 100 mentored meter installations).

** Mentored Installation period is variable in length and subject to each individual applicants learning pace.

*£5,000 is paid back to you via the employers retention bonus scheme over a 39 month period.

The Training

will be to the highest standard available and this is a mix of both classroom and field based mentored installations (with the end employer).

You will receive intense training on smart metering installations to enable the smooth progression from trainee into full employment.

The field based mentored installations will take place locally to where you live.

The Employment Opportunity

Subject to applicants successfully passing employment vetting and their final metering examinations, these positions will provide you with a direct route into paid employment.

Permanent Employment

starting salary of £26,000(On Target Earnings £23,500 in Year One)

Pay Rise to £26,000 in year two (On Target Earnings £28,000)

Retention bonus of £5,000 paid over 39 months (which will cover the cost of the course training fees).

Be aware that you will not be paid during the classroom or mentored installation phase of the training course
