Steelwork Draughtsperson

Salary: £43,200 – £48,000 per year

Steelwork Draughtsman/Detailer required, to work for a large steelwork fabrication company based in the West Midlands. The company produce steel framed buildings and a wide range and variety of other steelwork structures as well as associated Architectural steelwork. Salary £43,200 – £48,000D.O.E.

Draughtsman/Detailer role includes:

Working from Engineers and Architects drawings.

Producing GA’s,detailed fabrication drawings, along with all associated lists, such as cutting and component lists and CAM data, all directly from the 3D Tekla model.

Produce erection marking plans for site.

Working both on your own and at times within a team on larger projects.

Raising RFI’s with external parties to ensure sufficient flow of information is met to meet detailing / issue of dwgs to works program.

Make D.O. Manager aware of any hold up of information that will effect the detailing program.

Raise variations for all changes that effect the drawing program.

Draughtsman Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 3 years detailing structural steelwork working within a steelwork fabrication company or a similar engineering environment.

Experience using Tekla structures software would be a distinct advantage but not essential as training on Tekla structures software may be given to exceptional steelwork detailers who currently use other 3D detailing systems such as StruCad or Advance steel etc.

Experience running both your own detailing project and working within a team on larger steelwork structures.

Liaise with external parties, Engineers, Architects etc. and occasional meetings
