Air Hub Manager

Royal Mail Group is undergoing one of the largest modernisation changes in the UK. We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join as an Air Hub Manager (Night Shift) and help us continue to improve the services we provide and grow as a newly privatised company. The Air network is a critical element of the wider Logistics function within Royal Mail Group. Within Logistics we operate across multiple sites which provide warehousing, cross docking in Road Rail and Air Network Operations. The Logistics function employ circa 7k employees across the UK. Edinburgh Air Hub is critical to our operational success with up to 20 flights arriving and departing daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe loading and unloading of these aircraft from and to 25-30 vehicles per night.

The main purpose of the role is to effectively lead and engage our people to ensure the Edinburgh Air Hub processing plan is delivered in a safe, customer focused and compliant manner.

You will collaborate with various teams across the logistics function, and local operation to deliver continuous improvement in all key areas of performance. Working closely with Edinburgh Airport Authorities and Royal Mail Security to ensure compliance with Department for Transport (DfT) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a strong people leader, have demonstrable interactive people skills and will be able to evidence significant achievements in driving sustainable change and improvement.

In return you will be given the opportunity to work for the single largest air cargo operator in the UK. Our air operation encompasses 11 key airports operating 28 flights each weekday evening covering 56 sectors using twelve 737 jet and nine prop aircraft, handling around 5million items of 1st class mail and Special Delivery mail per night.

Salary & Benefits:
Basic salary: c£46,800 – £50,400(dependent on experience)
Allowance: £793.35 per month (nights)
Bonus Potential: 10%
