Practice Accountant

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

My client is an established Accountancy Practice based in Jarrow that are now looking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their small vibrant team. This is a full-time, permanent role based at their Covid secure office.

Role responsibilities:

* Preparation of year-end financial statements and accounts for Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders

* Managing a portfolio of clients dealing with daily queries

* Client communications – email/phone

* Self-assessments, corporate tax returns (CT600)

* VAT returns

* Using accounting software (TaxCalc, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero)

* Assisting the Director on complex cases or work

Essential requirements:

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within another accountancy practice

* Proficient in completing full company accounts

* An accountancy qualification such as AAT or above

* IT literate and experience with Cloud Accounting

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with an ability to liaise with people at all levels

* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

* Self-motivated and disciplined

* Organised and methodical with strong numerical abilities

* Able to work as part of a collaborative team
