A very strong stable contract for almost 2 decades – We now need a Mechanical Engineer to join a Team of 5 – You will be the 2nd Mech. Engineer on site.

The Role

• Site based role in NN4 – joining a team of 5 engineers
• Carrying out PPM and Breakdown Maintenance on automated warehouse equipment and machinery on site
• Dealing with product system faults, mechanical machine failures, maintenance of buildings and premises.
• Nice clean environment where your Health and Safety is taken seriously
• Role will involve working at height and in confined spaces, so you need to be physically fit
• Working as part of a team
• The machinery includes automated storage cranes, roller and belt conveyors, automated sorter system, picking stations, strapping machines
• It is not full on, out of control – Nice and busy but the team have sometimes finished all of the planned work and are ready to dive on breakdowns. Excellent controlled environment.
• Shifts: Monday-Friday 6.45am-2.45pm & 12.15pm – 8.15pm
• Overtime available weekends and bank holidays at good rates.

The Person:

• Time served Mechanical Engineer with basic electrical skills (using a multi-meter, and checking continuity and voltage.)
• Experience of carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in warehousing, distribution and production environments
• Physically fit – role will involve climbing vertical ladders and work at height (up to 20 meters), work in confined spaces, work on low level machine components such as floor level rails and conveyors (hands & knees)
• You will need good team working skills and good communication skills to effectively communicate with work colleagues and management.
• Self motivated person able to work without supervision, who values good health and safety on-site.
