Hourly Salary: £26,000 – £27,982.5per yearPAYE
Shifts Salary: £26,000 – £27,982.5LTD

Shift Pattern:Monday to Friday (No Weekends however Potential for Overt time)

Monday to Thursday Days – 7.30am – 4.00pm /Friday 7.30am – 12.15.
Monday to Friday Mornings – 6am – 2pm.
Monday to Friday Afternoons – 2pm – 10pm.

MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK ALL THE ABOVE SHIFT PATTERNS.

Hours per week: 37 Hours per week
Duration: On-going contract (6 months+)

Engineering – Machinists / Vehicle Builders / Assemblers / Aerospace / Welding
EX Forces – Infantry/ REME/ RAF/ ROYAL NAVY/ BRITISH ARMY

Client Summary:

Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance. This role will be working a huge project which will go into manufacture in the coming months.

Position Summary:

Suitable candidates will be put through a 1 week training package where they will become Rail competent and ready to begin work. YOU WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THE 1 WEEKS TRAINING COURSE HOWEVER YOU WILL COMPLETE RAIL COMPETENCIES AND WORK TOWARDS FURTHER QUALIFICATIONS DURING YOUR CONTRACT.

Once through the competency training you will be allocated in to one of the departments, which fit your skill set most appropriately, with the main bulk of the work on the build of a new state of art Train.

Different departments:

Vehicle Build: Attaching the body sides, working from written work instructions, torque tightening, working to a safety critical standard, earth bonding, fitting cab backs and interiors.

Vehicle Build (underframe): Fitting large components, torque tightening, witness marking, working to written work instructions and pipe fitting

Weld: Completing weld preparation rubbing down metal, grinding, measuring up and fettling. This position may have an opportunity to progress onto welding and completing aluminium test bars.

Electrical: Fitting electrical components, visual checks of work, competency checks, fault finding using a fluke meter, working from schematics and crimping.

Person Profile/Experience:

No previous experience is required, but some engineering experience would be preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic engineering preferred but not essential.NVQ Level 2 and above in a related field would be beneficial.
