The Role:
Brook Street are proud to be working in partnership with the Food Standard Agency, based in York. We are recruiting for a Policy Advisor on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Public Sector and expand on your skills and experience.
Assignment: Until 31/10/2022 with a possibility of extension or a permanent position
Rate of Pay: £18.92per hour
Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Friday
Location: York
Working arrangements: Remote working – Office working also available in York
The Food Standard Agency is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people. Having left the EU, they play a critical role in protecting public health and consumer’s wider interests in food across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
What your primary duties can include:
- Reviewing regulated products to approve before they enter the market
- Reform legislation’s from the EU
- Leading/supporting the ongoing review, development and implementation of policy changes to the Food and Feed Law Codes of Practice, and associated Practice Guidance, and MOC to ensure they are responsive to changing landscapes, reflect current policy.
- Ensuring the systems and processes for review and update of the FSA’s Frameworks align and are continuously improved.
- Proactively developing and maintaining networks and strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues in other parts of the FSA, in Defra, the Department of Health, and in local authorities.
- Evaluate findings from research and analysis to present realistic options and solutions, making recommendations to senior managers and Directors
- Proactively building and maintaining strong and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver team objectives.
