We have a great opportunity for a Marine Superintendent / Vessel Manager to join a unique marine organisation and overseeing the PPM and Management of their small fleet of vessels. The position would suit and ex Captain or Engineer with Vessel Management / Operational experience.

What you will be doing:

Ensuring all ships are operated safely & efficiently, all laws & regulations are monitored and conformed to.
Overseeing the safety management system and monitoring compliance onshore and on board.
Holding responsibility for governance, attending ISM meetings, reporting defects that could affect the safe operation of the ships, reporting KPIs to Senior Board Members.
Acting as deputy DPA and CSO, performing duties to ISPS Codes
Supervising Crew Co-ordinators, assisting with the recruitment of seafarers and engineering officers.
Developing and maintaining the strategic plan for continuous maintenance, refits and dry docking, as well as maintaining and administering the PMS.
Supervise all work for refits, dry docks, maintenance and repairs.
Liaise with suppliers, developing budgets and negotiating best prices, delivering all works within budget.
Overseeing annual audits and inspections, certification and insurance complying with Lloyds Register of Shipping.
Monitoring survey status of ships.
Supervising ship stores and supplies.
Overseeing international port and logistics operations for vessels.
Developing a Ship Operations annual budget for approval; preparing periodic management reports and tracking performance against budget.
Mentoring and training the Ship Operations team, conducting regular one-to-one’s and performance reviews.

What you will need:

Previous experience as a Vessel Superintendent, Captain or Engineer, with a head for the technical side of vessel management.
Live in or around the Southampton area, as you will be predominantly based here.
Ability and willingness to travel overseas when required.
