Salary: £26,000 per year
Beaumont College Lancaster requires a full time fixed term maternity cover teacher to support young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities and autism to achieve in their education aims of placement and learning outcomes. The successful post holder will be required to deliver meaningful learning sessions that enable students to achieve their EHCP assessed outcomes. This post holder will be required to deliver a range of subjects at a variety of different pre entry and entry levels. These include dance, trampolining, community fitness and environmental spaces in addition to specialist communication based subjects bespoke to the college.
The post holder must have knowledge and experience of Makaton signing, assistive and augmentative communication methods and of teaching young adults with special educational needs. They will have experience of implementing autism strategies and be prepared to use moving and handling equipment to transfer young people with physical disabilities to different positions to maximise their learning.
It is a likely requirement that this post will include some off site teaching, so it would be beneficial for candidates to be a driver.
The post holder must hold a teaching qualification.
