I am looking for a special person to join a Housing Association as their Domestic Abuse Support Co-ordinator. This is a varied role where you can make a real difference. The role covers the East Midlands so can be based in Derbyshire, Nottingham, Ollerton or Loughborough.

Main duties of this role are:

* Providing a high-quality service to customers who are victim/survivors of domestic abuse

* Assessing referrals to the service, in conjunction with and external stakeholders

* Co-ordinating initial risk management and referrals onto local specialist services

* Working as part of a multi-agency framework

* Completing individual support/safety plans in accordance with safe lives guidelines

* Liaising with police and other agencies to act in response to abusive behaviour or threats

* Attending local domestic abuse partnership and perpetrator management meetings where applicable

In this important role you must have:

* An awareness and experience of MARAC

* Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic abuse and an awareness of domestic abuse and the impact this can have on the lives of those who experience it

* Experience of working in a domestic abuse service

* Experience and awareness of safeguarding for both adults and children

* Experience of working within a multi-agency environment

* An understanding of the needs of people from diverse social/cultural/racial backgrounds

* A driver’s licence and/or ability to travel

* Flexibility regarding shifts as although the role is Monday – Friday you must be willing to attending meetings/events out of office hours
