Driver

To act as driver of a panel van as directed by the operations team based in the Barking area.

Hours of work –

Standard hours Monday to Friday 6am – 4pm 40 hours per week
to include 2 X 15 minute breaks plus 30 minute lunch break

You are required to use your hours flexibly with the intent to be at your first collection point for 8am
Weekday, weekend and bank holiday overtime may be required at peak times

The Role

To make collections from collection addresses as directed by the management team of our client. These collection addresses are retail stores. On arrival at store you will be expected to produce Photographic ID Card and follow store instructions at all times and collect waste brochures, confidential paper waste, office paper waste and cardboard. You will be expected to manually load the items onto your vehicle from whatever location in the store the material is situated (majority outside bin locations). This may be up or downstairs or in store rooms. You must ensure safe-loading and manual handling guidelines are adhered to at all times. Suitable equipment along with PPE will be provided to assist you in loading including an upright trolley, pallet containers, bulk sacks and wheelie bins. All collected material is returned to the designated depot, sorted and handled ready for uplift by Artic containers.

Main Duties

Providing reliable and friendly customer service to shops
Managing waste at stores i.e. if you have to leave volume behind you must let the office know so arrangements can be made with the store to collect it
Loading – including manual handling
Unloading – including manual handling
Undertaking all reasonable requests from the management team including working overtime when required Keeping the vehicle clean inside and out
