JOB SUMMARY: STORES OPERATIVE (Gravesend)

Key Role:

Carrying out a variety of transport, warehouse & stores related duties including picking, packing & dispatching of orders. Maintain accurate stock levels and take pride in a tidy warehouse whilst completing relevant paperwork & system processes.

General:

This position requires an enthusiastic, flexible and systematic approach to a variety of tasks. A fast reaction to requests and attention to detail are required to ensure an efficient and effective service.

Summary of main responsibilities and activities:
– Manage the accurate picking and packing of stock ensuring quality standards are met and maintained.
– Ensure goods received are checked, counted and any anomalies are highlighted on the paperwork before it is passed to the office for receipting in.
– Manage and control the storage of all products including special order goods without pre-assigned locations & overflow areas.
– Ensure returned goods are quality checked, counted and stored as per standard procedure.
– Accurate and safe loading or unloading of vehicles/containers/pallets.
– Liaising with transport companies to ensure goods are collected for delivery to site.
– Suggest and implement improvements to methods and systems currently in use throughout the warehouse/stores area.
– Delivering goods using a company vehicle as required.

Pace of work is fast to ensure customer deadlines are met. It will be necessary to carry out other tasks, in addition to the above, to ensure the smooth running of the business.
