Mechanical Design Draughtsperson (Inventor / Subsea)

Mechanical Design Draughtsperson – CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor) – stress analysis calculations – downhole tool design and development experience an asset – oil & gas marketplace – based Aberdeen – salary £30,000 – £36,000+

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Draughtsperson with good experience of CAD applications (ideally Autodesk Inventor) and stress analysis calculations to work within a team of Mechanical Engineers and Draughtspeople

You would be dealing with all the mechanical aspects of equipment and systems for a company with a high profile in the exploration well testing and production/completion departments of the world’s major oil & gas companies

The ideal candidate will have an HNC or HND. Downhole tool design and development experience is preferable.

MathCAD is beneficial but not essential but all candidates should have knowledge/experience of MS Office applications, mechanical components and, preferably, oilfield downhole tools.

Working with a team, the Mechanical Design Draughtsperson’s role will be to generate designs, drawings and procedures to assist in the design and development of new and existing tools. You would also be required to generate and maintain documentation to record the design and development phase.

Day to day duties will include:

* Designing mechanical components and systems
* Doing stress analysis calculations
* Generating CAD models and drawings (layouts, assemblies, detail etc)
* Generating procedures (assembly, test etc) and test reports
* Checking engineering documents
* Performing test build of new equipment and prototype testing
* Advising on the ordering of equipment for new tools and development work
* Participating in design reviews
* Supporting customers on technical queries
* Maintaining design files and documentation
* Supporting operations by working at client sites (onshore and offshore)
