Public Health Intelligence Officer (Covid)

Salary: £22.24 per hour

Industrial Personnel are currently recruiting for a Public Health Intelligence Officer for an immediate start.
This role will be based in Rotherham, and will contribute to the COVID-19 Outbreak Control Plan. It is a permanent role, with a salary of £22.24PH.

As the Public Health Intelligence Officer you will:

* Sit within the Adult Care, Housing and Public Health directorate.

* Contribute to delivery of the Rotherham COVID-19 Outbreak Control Plan.

* Be the key point of contact for COVID-19 intelligence.

* Lead on the acquisition, use, and interpretation of COVID-19 data sets.

* Provide analytical support as part of the COVID-19 recovery programme and to wider Public Health intelligence work.

* Support the development of effective and evidence-based COVID-19 public health intelligence, such as the development of a surveillance dashboard.

* Provide input into the process of understanding health needs in the area, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, assisting wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population and actively disseminating the findings of a wide range of analysis.

* Work closely with colleagues internal and external to the team to assess local intelligence demand/needs and implement effective reporting solutions which extract, interpret and present data effectively to non-technical customers to inform service improvement.

* Provide specialist advice and support on system improvements to increase analytical opportunities.

The ideal candidate;

* The ideal candidate must possess the skills required to develop and maintain integrated reporting and analysis solutions to enable the sharing of interactive up-to-date surveillance data with key strategic and operational colleagues and facilitating data to drive local action and rapid response.

* Level 7 qualification or relevant extensive experience

* Excellent communication skills required, to exchange complex or contentious information with a range of people, orally and in writing.

* Decision making skills are key, due to nature of the role.

* Ideal candidate will be able to use an analytical approach to solve complex situations or problems.

* Candidate must be honest, accountable, respectful, inclusive, ambitious, and professional.

* Valid UK Driving Licence essential.
