Process Development Chemist/Analyst – Fine and Specialty Chemicals

Our East Anglia based client is a contract manufacturer of crop protection, fine and speciality chemicals to customers across the globe. They are actively looking to recruit for a Process Development Chemist.
Duties for this role will include:
• Providing technical analytical expertise with a problem solving and troubleshooting service to manufacturing, using instrumentation such as LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP and FTIR
• To propose and validate process improvements and to provide expert technical input into the design and development of new and existing plant, processes or products onsite
• Auditing of plant performance standards of Environment, Quality, Reliability, Capacity and Cost
• Working within a Technical Support Team with defined responsibility for several Production Plants in support of Plant managers
• Liaising with Manufacturing teams on a regular basis to provide technical support for the operation and optimisation of processes
• Carrying out laboratory and investigative studies and evaluations to support existing and future manufacturing
The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills/attributes
• A degree in a relevant subject area (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar)
• A minimum of 5 years’ industrial experience within large-scale chemical manufacturing
• Previous experience of troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation is essential
• Previous experience of providing analytical technical support to Process Development would be advantageous

Salary: Up to £42,000(depending on skills and previous experience)
