We are seeking a methodically minded, problem solving Senior Data Engineer who has technical expertise with Azure and integrating cloud-based applications. With headquarters in the City of London this SME is transforming the way that they store and access data using standard public cloud services.
THE ROLE OF SENIOR DATA ENGINEER:
Taking the lead in solution development and maintenance for:
* All data warehouses
* Data load and transformation of external and internal data sources
* Data outputs to reporting and visualisation applications
* Provision of data from data warehouses to meet the needs of business stakeholders
* Development of data load, transformation and output services for other analytics projects across the business
DESIRED SKILLS OF SENIOR DATA ENGINEER:
* Building Cloud-based solutions for loading, transforming and processing data.
* Database performance tuning, data migration, version control and auto deployment.
* DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
* Azure and/or AWS ecosystems experience
* Tools such as DataLakes, Data Factory, Data Bricks, Snowflake etc
* Using API and ETL methods in complex data ingestion services
* Familiarity with agile development and scripting in Python, SQL, Java and PHP
* Experience administering and deploying source control tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab or Jenkins
* Methodical mindset, enjoys problem solving and creating solutions to meet business needs
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance working collaboratively as well as independently
* Understanding of NoCode and LowCode solutions
* Creating schemas and optimising data going into Power BI, Tableau
