Salary: £26,000 per year
Norse Commercial Services are currently seeking Mini Bus Drivers to have joint responsibility with the Passenger Assistant (where applicable) for collecting and taking clients to and from various day care centres in the Norwich and surrounding areas.
Successful applicants must hold a full driving licence (including D1 entitlement) and will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to appointment.
Hours of Work
We have various contracted positions available ranging from 18-20 hours/week, on term time and full time contracts, working on a split shift basis to cater for contracted morning and afternoon requirements. Casual contracts also available.
The successful applicant will be required to attend mandatory training during school and centre closures to adhere to Travel & Transport contracts
Main Duties and Responsibilities
•Drive company passenger and delivery vehicles as required.
•Assist children/clients at the beginning and end of their journeys where necessary, to and from their homes, and on to and off the vehicle.
•To supervise the seating and securing of clients where appropriate and in conjunction with a passenger assistant.
•Ensuring the safety and comfort of children, clients and passengers and providing for their physical and emotional needs whilst in transit.
•Act as first point of contact with the passenger assistant between children, clients, relatives, carers and the school/centre staff.
•To understand and, if necessary, cope with feelings of the children’s/clients relatives.
•To understand and respect the children’s/clients privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
•To be responsible for appropriate vehicle maintenance, safety checks and routine cleaning of vehicle, both inside and out.
•To make themselves familiar with the drivers guide and be aware what to do in cases of emergencies and accidents.
•Ensure that a passenger assistant is on board when conveying children/ clients where it is deemed they need additional support or supervision in transit and as agreed with the Transport Operations Manager.
•To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, observance and adherence to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
•Ensure that services are provided in accordance with company standards and objectives of quality assurance.
•To perform such other duties of a like nature as may be directed by the Transport Manager.
