PHP and MySQL Developer – Commutable from Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Weston Super Mare, Newport – £25K-£35K

I am seeking an experienced PHP/MySQL Developer to work for a growing and well regarded organisation who specialise in the development of cutting edge websites and applications for the financial services industry. They are based on the outskirts of Bristol, with excellent access to the motorway network.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable commercial experience in developing user friendly, advanced applications using OO programming techniques. Candidates with programming experience in OO PHP, Java, C++ or.Net technologies will be considered, as the key attribute required for the role is an aptitude for back end OO programming. Cross training into PHP programming will be provided for the right candidate if required.

Other technologies used in the role include Javascript (JQuery) and CSS, and ideally you will have had some exposure to AJAX technologies. You will also have an awareness of MySQL databases.

The role will also involve the management of development projects and the opportunity to take the technical lead on different pieces of work, so considerable commercial experience would be a distinct advantage. Previous experience of project management would be advantageous, but all candidates with a strong background in OO programming will be considered.
