Salary: £96,000 – £102,000 per year
My client is market-leading within the automotive sector and has an opportunity for an Operations Director to join the senior management team. You will be responsible for the day- to-day operations and service delivery across the UK reporting into the CEO. You will build strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers within the business both internally and externally and be responsible for embracing challenges and solving problems both strategically and operationally.
The Role
• Responsible for creation of a department strategic plan which complies with and enhances the Company-wide strategic plan and business plan.
• Ensures that the business exceeds operational requirements in all respects and is fully compliant and operates in a manner that mitigates any potential reputational risk to the business.
• Involved in setting sales objectives, managing the P&L and delivering the business objectives
• Deliver results required within business plans which will include reporting on the department’s performance
• Drive and share best practice across the business
• Adapt to the changes required by the senior management team. Reporting to the CEO on all strategic and tactical matters relating to the operational needs of the business.
• Manage and monitor daily operation
- Provide strong leadership to maximise quality and quantity of output.
• Responsible for succession planning and developing individuals within the management team through coaching and development
- Continuously reshape department best practices to provide highest customer satisfaction and the greatest chance of customer retention.
• Be instrumental in developing business relationships with existing and new accounts ensuring that they are aligned to the business strategy
• Ensure that processes and systems are developed and enhanced
• Meeting all set KPIs and achieving targets.
- Liaise with other departments, including Finance and HR to agree operations budgets and achieve employment best practice.
- Maintain strong relationships with any third parties the department works with regularly to ensure smooth procurement and delivery of products and services.
- Ensure that the Department runs with legality and conformity to established regulations, including compliance with all legal, GDPR, environmental and health & safety requirements.
Essential Skills
• Highly motivated individual with 4+ years of operational management experience both strategically and operationally within the automotive sector
• Resourceful, proactive and can multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate initiative and have a passion for providing exceptional service to customers
• Detail orientated and extremely organised.
• Sector-relevant experience with business development.
