Lead Pastor – London – £48,000.00 per annum, Full time – Permanent role. Benefits include Holidays, and Company Pension Contributions.
Our client is looking for a full time, passionate and energetic Lead Pastor with previous experience in leading a church ministry, preferably within the Pentecostal service sector.
The successful candidate will be a relational, visionary collaborative team-leader who wants to nurture and grow the church community. The Lead Pastor should be compassionate and have a genuine intention of serving the local community. If this is you then we would like to hear from you?
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To take responsibility and provide leadership and oversight of all aspects of the vision, mission, and purpose of our client’s church.
- To provide leadership, management, and oversight of the volunteers.
- To take responsibility for the overall health of the organisation, through careful monitoring of its spirituality, relationships, structures, finances, and morale.
- To be the primary teacher and preacher able to teach the Bible and bring clear practical application of it.
- To provide leadership and oversight of the worship and preaching
- To uphold and promote our clients values and good relationships with the wider movement.
- To nurture good relationships with other churches.
- To maintain a dynamic and authentic relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through the classic spiritual disciplines of Bible study, fasting and daily prayer.
Experience, skills, and knowledge required for the role.
Competencies and Experience Required –
- Previous experience of running a church ministry or in leading a church or community. A minimum of five year’s corporate and senior pastoral ministry experience is required.
- Familiar with and embraces our clients values.
- Experience of regular preaching in front of a congregation of mixed ages.
- Strategic thinking and execution in progressive development of a church.
- Team leadership skills.
- Experience of delivering effective training to others, whether through small group sessions or personally.
- Experience in Pastoral care.
- Good communication skills.

- Passion for God, His Church, and the local community (including churches of other denominations).

- Open to feedback from peers and board of trustees in the church and local community.
Desirable
- Familiar with how to grow a church and keep it healthy.
- Experience of successfully pioneering a new ministry and growing new branches across the United Kingdom and Europe.
- Proven experience in change management, conflict resolution, and people management.
