Metallurgist

The Just Recruitment Group Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Metallurgist for our client based in Sudbury, Suffolk.

37 hours per week
Staff normally work Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 12:30.

Candidates shall be able to analyse and report on heat treated low alloy and tool steel component failures utilizing the scanning electron microscope.
Able to define specifications for testing components post heat treatment. Liaise with material suppliers and contractors on metallurgical aspects arising in the supply chain. Provide support to material and process development and metallurgical support to manufacturing personnel.
Work with external heat treatment providers to make sure when new processes are introduced metallurgical development takes place.
Experienced in working in Laboratory environment providing general analysis techniques such as titration and oil viscosity measurement.
Take technical control of in-house heat treatment process.
