The Client & Role | Who Are They?

Our retained client is a manufacturer of capital equipment with industrial applications in process industries. They design, engineer and manufacture equipment with projects values of up to £4m. These are complex bits of kits with a range of electro-mechanical parts and components, some made in house, some bought in. They also procure a range of subcontract services too. Within the procurement function there is huge scope for opportunity, whilst having been functional they haven’t really pushed the boundaries of what might be possible, and gains can be made in a number of areas:

– Working with engineering to drive VMI across common components,

– Dual source supply,

– Low cost sourcing,

– Better use of the ERP system,

– Supplier audits,

– Better Contract management,

To name a few.

The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?

This role will manage a small team of buyers and will really assist the business in achieving their next milestone in its development, but also in driving bottom line improvements.

To be considered you need to have experience of the following:

Project based buying.

Experience of procuring and sourcing electromechanical components and equipment.

Managing a team of buyers with a focus on cost down and best value.
