Automotive Field Engineer / Technical Support Analyst

We are seeking an experienced automotive technician to support the UK dealer network, identifying and resolving parts quality issues on behalf of a leading vehicle manufacturer’s aftermarket parts and accessories distribution operation

UK field based position – Ideal location Midlands – Birmingham, Northampton, Oxford, Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Reading

£30-40k + Car + Pension + Life Assurance + Health insurance + Lunch Allowance

The Candidate

Reporting to the Quality Manager at our clients European HQ, the Field Quality Engineer will build and maintain strong relationships with the dealer network, identifying, analysing and reporting on parts quality data.

• Qualified Automotive Technician preferred / experienced but not qualified considered.
• Knowledge of cars, parts and the ability to diagnose problems
• The ability to use diagnostic equipment is essential
• Self-motivated with a hands-on approach
• Strong IT skills – in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Confident communicator – able to build strong working relationships at all levels
• An analytical approach to problem solving
• Flexible – this role will include frequent travel with site visits to UK dealers and travel to our clients European Head Office

The Role

• Building and maintaining a working relationship with UK dealers
• Frequent site visits within the dealer network to investigate parts quality issues, using diagnostic equipment where necessary
• Occasionally working on vehicles and providing resolution where necessary
• Analysis and reporting of parts warranty and quality issues
• Provide technical assistance and advise on new technologies
• Respond to quality concerns, reporting findings the quality centre
• Investigate critical parts quality issues
