Community Care Workers, Birmingham Domiciliary Care
£ Per Annum/ Pro Rata
A mix of full time and part time roles available
Trident Group has over 50 years of delivering homes, services and innovation for up to 8,000 people in over 3,400 homes in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands. It employs more than 750 staff, works with over 150 volunteers and provides training places and apprenticeships for many more. The Group includes Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance; Trident Reach, a registered care and support charity providing services (homeless, mental health, young people, older people, BME groups and domestic violence) to people in the Midlands.
About the role
To undertake or supervise the personal care of service users, preparation of appropriate meals, shopping, bill payments, collection of prescriptions and general household tasks.
Other duties include:
* Ensuring service users retain individuality and personal dignity by promoting high standards of care and encouraging independence where appropriate
* Ensuring that different cultural need is catered for sensitively
* To respect the confidential nature of the work
* To provide direct care to service users as circumstances require
* To attend meetings, case conferences and training as required
* To contribute to an effective system of communication within the team, by discussion and regular team meetings
* To undertake such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the Home Care Manager, in consultation with the post holder
* To ensure that the Health and Safety and Equal opportunities policies are implemented and
* To undertake any other duties specified by Management.
About you
* Can work with customers in their own homes
* An ability to handle emergency situations
* Have effective verbal communication skills
* Have good interpersonal skills
* A good knowledge of equal opportunities
* Can work under own initiative and as part of a team
* Have a detailed understanding of other cultures and familiarity with diversity
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills
* Be able to travel around the Birmingham area.
