UI/UX Designer

User Interface Designer, User Experience Designer, UI/UX, Web Designer, Mock ups, Wireframing, Web, Mobile, East Midlands, Nottingham City Centre.

We are recruiting a UX Designer for one of Europe’s largest online retail destinations who provide a variety of branded and unbranded services for a range of clients, such as Universal Music and the BBC, as well as covering the vast majority of the UK’s entertainment market.

As the successful candidate you will join the core development team working on a variety of design projects for their many properties, desktop and mobile websites receiving millions of visitors per month, other platforms and mobile apps.

You will be responsible:

• Creating design mockups for entire web sites, and features within web sites using graphics software
• Writing HTML, CSS and ideally JavaScript, and integrating the designs into web applications
• UX design for Android and iOS mobile apps
• Other design work as required by the business

Key requirements:

• Demonstrable commercial experience of mobile and desktop web design and development, or a high quality personal portfolio
• Practical experience of web design work using Adobe Photoshop or similar tools
• Able to translate rough ideas, wireframes and concepts into designs
• Able to code production-ready HTML and CSS
• An ability to work on own initiative based on general requirements
• Passion for emerging web trends and technologies
• Interest in UI/UX theory and design

Desirable skills:

• JavaScript
• Templating languages such as Razor
• Design related degree or HND

Salary: £26,000 – £36,000per year+ Benefits

Location: Nottingham City Centre, East Midlands.
